With two and a half centuries of tradition, the Naniwa Sake brewery building has been designated a national cultural heritage site. From the beginning, the brewery has produced sake by hand, with the brewers putting their heart and soul into the work. The brewery utilises water from the Izumi mountains, recognised by the Ministry of the Environment as being among the best water in Japan. Renowned toji Katsuro Sato has 45 years of experience and thanks to his tireless devotion to producing great sake, the brewery has won the National New Sake Tasting Competition a total of 9 times. The large number of young brewers at Naniwa Sake ensures that there is a constant drive to innovate and improve the sake that the brewery produces.
