Tuck into a heavenly helping of fun and fresh Japanese dining in a friendly and funky setting.
TENSHI61 Upper Street N1 0NY Tenshi is a great little place inspired by the relaxed, izakaya style of Japanese dining: casual and cool, all about good, honest food at reasonable prices. So there’s nothing complicated or stuffy about this friendly neighbourhood restaurant; it’s a welcoming and informal place to come and tuck into your favourite Japanese dishes, enjoy a glass of beer or a tot of sake, or discover something with a Tenshi twist, like Japanese-style fish and chips (complete with tobiko mayonnaise). The comprehensive hot food menu includes classic comfort food, like katsu curry, katsudon or teriyaki chicken, whilst the extensive selection of sushi has been getting London’s sushi fans buzzing with the quality of the ingredients and freshness of taste – go and see what all the fuss is about. Tenshi is also one of the few places in the UK serving authentic Japanese street-style food: think takoyaki octopus balls and okonomiyaki, a savoury pancake-like dish that you can tailor with extra ingredients ‘as you like’ (which is what the name means). The wide selection of noodles means there’s something for every customer and every season, from classic tempura udon to tempura hiyashi soba, perfect on a summer day, or a spicy miso broth for a warming winter treat. |
