A Search For True Professionals![]() How would you like to take part in an original event which forms the highlight of the international sushi calendar? How about having your worth as a sushi chef and the reputation of your restaurant boosted and to attract attention from UK and worldwide media? Well perhaps now you can, as for the first year ever, Eat-Japan are accepting applications for the UK Sushi Samurai. After the applications have been collected, the UK Sushi Samurai will be determined with the help of sushi masters, including Masayoshi Kazato and Kensaku Yoshida, both vice-directors of the All Japan Sushi Association International Division, the biggest sushi association in Japan. To enter, you must be a professional chef with at least three years experience and the full support of the restaurant with which you are currently employed. As the selected samurai will have to prepare over 300 pieces of sushi in under two hours, a high degree of proficiency is absolutely crucial. Moreover, as it will be your original sushi creations which are on test, a strong body of inventive ideas for outstanding new sushi are necessary. Applying for the next UK Sushi Samurai*Sushi description :The chef's restaurant must be willing to support him in his application. Please attach a photograph of the chef, chest up in chef's uniform, and one of the finished sushi piece. If possible, attach references with the application.Please note that the sushi entries of the chosen samurai will become the joint property of Eat-Japan and the chef's restaurant.
