Eat-Japan 2005

Last year saw the first ever Eat-Japan festival, with thousands of Japanese food fans getting involved in a range of exciting events designed to celebrate the best of Japanese food, drink and culture.
Celebrating Sushi Since it was first held in 2001, the Original Sushi Competition has aimed to widen interest and participation in Japanese cuisine in the UK . The 2005 event attracted nearly 600 entries, and was won by catering student Cynthia Awor-Ojera, for her dish Crunchy Makizushi. New for 2005 was the Photogenic Sushi Competition , which invited entrants to send in their photos of people enjoying sushi, and was won by Frederic Aranda, for his shot, ‘Let Me Try!' Prizes Galore A pair of return tickets to Japan , plus a host of other amazing prizes, were up for grabs in EAT-JAPAN's Prize Draw promotion. All entrants had to do was answer a few simple questions about Japanese food, in one of the most popular events of EAT-JAPAN 2005. In the Lucky Scratch Card promotion, meanwhile, customers received a scratch card when they ate in any EAT-JAPAN participating outlet, giving them the chance to collect a sushi menu book, and be entered into a prize draw to win flights to Japan and other prizes. Glittering Spectacle Eat-Japan 2005 culminated in the Sushi Awards 2005 , which included not only the Grand Final of the fourth Original Sushi Competition, but also a demonstration by the top seven sushi chefs in the UK - the Seven Sushi Samurai , with the 300-strong audience given an opportunity to sample their delicious creations. |
Feng Sushi are now taking reservations for the last course of the season at the perennially popular Feng Sushi School. These day-long courses provide an ideal chance to gain sushi skills from professionals which can be retained forever.
