The words “Japanese” and “wine” aren’t heard together that often, unless of course “rice” is nestled between them. But according to the Guardian, there’s something of a quiet revolution going on. And tomorrow, London’s Japan Society is giving its members a chance to try out some of this on-the-up tipple, at a Koshu Wine Tasting at the Embassy, no less.
Already renowned for its sake, the increasingly popular shochu, beers and an excellent line in whiskies (the result of some industrious study tours to Scotland), will Japan be the next force to reckon with in wine? There’s only one way to tell - sip it and see.
