Sandwich Art

I can’t really remember if I was a really fussy eater when I was little.
The only vestige of those hazy days are the fact that now, (cough) years on, my mother will occasionally say, “but you don’t like tomatoes!” when I have them in my sandwich. Then I must remind her that I have eaten tomatoes for years. But presumably there was I time when they made me either cry, or sulk, or shiver with fear.

Children who are fussy with their food are common; less so are the kind of parents who are prepared to go to these lengths to get their darling offspring tucking into their veg. I am amazed that bread and ham and cheese could be so convincingly turned into art. I am amazed that anyone has the time to do this. I am disgusted with the dullness of the sandwich in my bag. But I also know that I am far too lazy to attempt this kind of thing myself.

Not only does this lucky boy have possibly the most fun lunches in the world, he also has a daddy that obviously really, really loves him. Ahhh.

Kawaii!

Too much time on their hands, or frustrated artists? I don’t know who made these bento, but I want to eat one!
